Yes, belongings can be packed inside the vehicle. We handle this possibility at the client’s risk and they must not exceed 100 Lbs, since excessive weight can cause damage to your vehicle. Please remember that it is not about making a complete move inside the vehicle and additionally, you must notify us of the presence of belongings in your vehicle because it generates an additional charge for the service.

Make sure that:

Your car does not have any kind of leak or drip.
The battery is well secured.
Only have ¼ tank of fuel.
Your vehicle’s anti-theft or alarm equipment is deactivated or disconnected.
The radiator has adequate levels of antifreeze and is prepared for changes in weather.
Floor lights, spoilers, fog lights, bike racks, extra-wide mirrors, and any loose parts are secured or removed. Also lower the antenna if possible.
Vehicle windows are slightly open to relieve pressure from high temperatures and travel.
Your personal belongings (keys, extraction radios, CDS, CD/DVD Players, garage controls, etc.) are removed from your vehicle. You can leave spare objects such as your cries or cat (See details of question #1).
If your vehicle is a convertible, seal or repair any openings in the canopy to prevent air from entering and causing further damage.

In the case of ground transportation, the vehicle is fully insured for its value, as your private insurance would cover it. All trucks must maintain current insurance for general damage to the car, physical damage and cargo. In the case of maritime transport, the insurance has an additional cost that is calculated based on the declared value of the vehicle to be transported.

It is important that when you receive your car, you review it and compare the information that the driver has in the Bill of Lading – BOL (bill of lading) report:
If you sign your copy, it means that you accept the conditions of delivery of your car.
If the vehicle shows any damage, you must report it on your copy and ask the driver for the information to contact the person in charge to make the corresponding claim.

Recommendation: Always check the delivery condition of your vehicle, regardless of the time of day or the weather. If you have any damage, we recommend taking photos as evidence of such damage and keep your copy of the Bill of Lading.

The vehicle will only be handled for assembly and disassembly purposes on the appropriate transport and/or at the time of pick up and delivery, in accordance with local circumstances, regulations or restrictions.

Recommendation: Write down the mileage of your car at the time of being picked up and delivered. Any discrepancy must be left in writing and signed by the driver and you (customer).

Maritime transportation from Jacksonville, FL to San Juan, PR or vice versa has an estimated duration of 3 calendar days. And, from the port of Eddystone, PA to San Juan, PR or vice versa, it has an estimated duration of 7 calendar days. Although we must clarify that these are estimated times that may vary without prior notice.

It is the ideal of our service in Car Transfer by Car Freight Shipping INC. However, in certain residences, localities and states do not allow it, if it is the case, an appointment with the truck driver is necessary in a place that is convenient for the client, such as parking lots or shopping centers, for the delivery of the vehicle.

It is important that someone be present at the place where the vehicle will be delivered or picked up, be it a friend or relative, to sign the Bill of Lading BOL (bill of lading).

In case you do not have someone you trust who can receive or deliver the vehicle, it will be delivered to the nearest terminal (it may be several miles from your location). If so, you are responsible for picking it up or transporting it to the desired location and the average cost of these services and terminals varies by city and/or state.

If your vehicle does not advance, reverse, brake or turn for collection and delivery, it is considered inoperable and generates an additional cost to your service, since these vehicles require more physical activity and more time to be assembled and disassembled, representing delays in logistics.

If possible, as long as the bank or agency to which you are paying for the vehicle gives you a letter saying that you are paying for it and that you can transport it out of the country. With that authorization, you can send your vehicle.

It’s optional. However, for your peace of mind, we always recommend that you take out marine insurance for the transport of your vehicle. The cost of marine insurance will depend on the value declared by you.
